Tata’s New Car Tata Curvv ....

Tata Curvv EV: Tata Motors unveils its latest electric vehicle in India

Tata Motors has taken a new step in spreading its electric vehicle segment in India. Today the company (Tata Motors) has unveiled its new electric vehicle ‘Tata Curvv EV’ in India. The new Curvv will be a midsize SUV coupe and will be placed above Tata Nexon EV in the company’s EV hierarchy. Currently, Tata Motors offers Tata Nexon and Tata Tigor cars as its electric offering in India.

Tata Curvv will be based on Tata’s generation 2 EV architecture that is built to accommodate many body styles as well as suit various powertrain options. This roughly means that the platform can allow the Tata Curvv to operate with an all-wheel-drive setup. The Tata Curvv EV is expected to house a larger battery than the Tata Nexon EV. This will allow the new SUV coupe to offer a range of 400-500km in the real world. “A new typology vehicle crafted for the Indian roads with exhilarating performance and futuristic concept’’, says Tata Motors about the new car.

When it comes to the design of the SUV, it looks muscular and distinct. The crease lines that run from the front to the back enhance the sharpness on the sides. The wheel arches also seem to be quite distinctive and adds to the looks of the Coupe. At the front as well as at the rear, the SUV looks sharp. It has a split LED headlight set up just like the other Tata cars. The headlights will be present in the triangular housings. The cabin of the car will be minimalistic and has two touchscreens. One of the touchscreens is for infotainment purposes while the other will serve as an instrument cluster. The Tata Curvv will also offer a panoramic sunroof and various other features in the cabin.

Considering the range of Tata Curvv EV, it will compete with the likes of MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric in the Indian market. In terms of dimensions, the Curvv is bigger than the Nexon EV. This means that overall length will be more than 4.3m while the wheelbase will also be more than Nexon. By the time the Tata Curvv EV is production-ready and hits the market, it will be 2024. Hence, there is a lot of time for Tata Motors to add any changes in the vehicle.

Even thought the company has not hinted about the prices of the electric vehicle (Tata Curvv), we can expect it to be priced around Rs 20 lakh when it is launched in India.

Samsung just announced the ISOCELL HP3 sensor as the successor to last year’s ISOCELL HP1 sensor, which we are yet to see in smartphones. The new sensor industry’s smallest 0.56-micrometer (μm)-pixels, which is 12% smaller pixel size than the predecessor’s 0.64μm, packing 200 million pixels in a 1/1.4” optical format compared to 1/1.22″ in the HP1.
